ONE FUN THING: Send a Message in a Pill Bottle To Save the ACA

As members of Congress return from recess, House Republicans are not only continuing to wheel and deal to repeal the ACA, but they’re making Trumpcare even worse by taking away coverage for people with pre-existing conditions. We need your help to deliver the message—in pill bottles—that you’re watching and will not stand for it. Your voice and actions defeated Trumpcare once. You can do it again. Here’s what you do:

  1. Go to MessageInAPillBottle.org
  2. Fill out the form with your message and click send
  3. Call and tweet at your Representative to tell them a #MessageInAPillBottle is coming their way
  4. We’ll deliver it next week!

Urge your members of Congress to resist Trump‘s efforts to repeal or sabotage the ACA this week with a #MessageInAPillBottle. Enough is enough!

Take Action This Week – Pick One … Or all of them*:

(Check out Resistbot for an easy way to Fax via a text message -see below for details.)

  • Voter ID. Congressman Luke Messer (IN-06) has introduced a voter photo identification bill, which could suppress the votes of millions of eligible Americans nationwide & help h I’m get elected to the Senate next year. Call him at 202-225-3021 and tell him you oppose his voter ID bill and that you don’t want him changing national election laws just to help win his own election in Indiana. You can also call our MoCs and tell them you oppose Voter ID laws that suppress the vote.
  • Oppose the deportation of DREAMers. Call, fax or email our MoCs. Script: Hi. I’m from ZIP and want to express my support for a healthy, sane immigration policy in the US. Except for Native Americans and the descendants of slaves, our country is made up of immigrants and is stronger for this diversity. What are you doing to support DREAMers and offering a path to citizenship?
  • Flip Georgia Blue. Here’s how you can help. https://electjon.com/volunteer/
  • Military Action without Congressional approval. Contact our three members of Congress and tell them Congress must reassert its Constitutional duty and require the president to obtain Congressional approval before any further military action.
  • It’s still all about Russia. Demand an Independent Investigation of Russia-Trump Connection by contacting Kennedy & Cassidy and urging them to 1) support S27- a bill that calls for an independent commission to investigate Russian influence in our election and more and 2) insist that Jeff Sessions appoint a special prosecutor. Congressional investigations are proving to be overly partisan.
  • Rescind Trump’s Executive Order to Reverse Climate Change Legislation. Sen. Bennet (D-CO) has led more than 30 U.S. Senators in the introduction of legislation to rescind President Trump’s Executive Order to reverse several landmark U.S. initiatives to combat climate change. Urge Cassidy & Kennedy to support this bill.
  • Advocate for Arts & Culture. Urge our MoCs not to cut funding that supports the National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Until May 15, the EPA is soliciting public comment on repealing EPA regulations. To participate, visit: Regulations.gov – click the dark blue “Comment Now!” button, upper right. Script: Share why you support protections for clean air, soil, and water.and follow the instructions there.

A New EASY Tool to Contact Your MoCs:

Check out RESISTBOT – an automated app that faxes your Senators from texting. Simply Text RESIST to 50409 it will do the rest. It’s free! and really cool. If 50409 doesn’t work, you can also text “resist” to 202-335-4008. (Note Higgins FAX machine is not working, so RESISTBOT does not work for him).

The Environmental Team would like you to watch and share this sequel to The Inconvenient Truth. This incredibly important movie will be released this summer and can be eye opening to some people who may have doubts about climate change. https://www.facebook.com/AnInconvenientTruth/videos/886830754793255/?autoplay_reason=user_settings&video_container_type=0&video_creator_product_type=2&app_id=2392950137&live_video_guests=0
